Parallel Lines, Transversals, and their Angles Foldable or Cheat Sheet

Parallel Lines, Transversals, and their Angles Foldable or Cheat Sheet

Some students LOVE foldables, but some don't!
I like to give my students a choice.  I create all of my foldables so that if a student doesn't like to flip the flaps they can just as easily see all of the information on one flat page.

Corresponding, Alternate Interior, Alternate Exterior, Consecutive Interior, Vertical, and Linear Pair Angles are covered!

You can see my latest version here.

Back to School with Daily Algebra Warm Ups

Daily Algebra Warm Ups

Well it's back to school now and time for daily warm ups to start those math juices flowing.

I have created daily warm ups with questions from 76 specific Algebra topics. I use these warm ups for my Algebra I, Algebra II and even Geometry students. There are over 300 questions included. Two warm ups are on each page to save paper with 4 questions per warm up.
You can get them here.

RST - 123 A quick way to remember properties.

Many of my students confuse reflexive, symmetric, and transitive properties.  A quick nemonic that I use is RST-123.

Reflexive
A=A
1 statement

Symmetric
If A=B
then B=A
2 statements

Transitive
If A=B
and B=C
then A=C
3 statements

Math and Straws

Here is a couple of great ways to use straws and pipe cleaners to teach geometry.  I have students create snowflakes and then discuss symmetry.  To teach how to find the diagonal of the rectangular prism, have students create a 3-4-5 prism and then cut paper triangles to fit inside the prism.  They can then prove to themselves that d = sqrt(l^2 + h^2 + w^2)!!!!!!!   Enjoy!!!!

Snowflake Graphing and Symmetry Activity Freebie

Here is a Snowflake graphing and symmetry activity freebie.  I love using snowflakes to teach math!
The possibilities are endless, from art and science projects to teaching rotational symmetry.
